REWARDS / TREATS
Canned pumpkin (for pies) is considered a healthy treat.
Baby food - Chicken or Lamb. DO NOT FEED GERBER NEW FORMULA!
**Onion Toxicity has been proven to cause illness & even death in some species of large & small animals.
REGULAR FOOD
Dry - Iams, Eukanuba, Premium-Edge, "Chicken Soup", Eagle, Waltham, Nutro Max &/or Precise... lots of times I will mix 2 flavors together.
Canned - Science Diet Growth, Iams Chicken; Kal Kan/Whiskas Chicken varieties, Stew varieties, Lamb & Rice, 9-Lives Chicken & Rice, Eagle
** Canned food is NOT fed on a regular basis (except to young kittens). Read *all* labels & avoid any canned food that contains onion powder as one of the ingrediants.
Read labels - the best foods will state: "Animal feeding tests using Association of American Feed Control Officials procedures substantiate that food name provides complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages."
LITTER
I prefer FibreCycle Cat Litter or shredded newspaper. Pelletized alfalfa, chicken feed & rabbit feed also make economical bio-degradable kitty litter.
GROOMING
Balinese, Javanese & Oriental Longhairs do not mat, regular combing is only necessary when the weather turns hot and they start to shed. Use a fine tooth comb. Nail clipping is really the only thing necessary on a regular basis. Occasional baths help to refresh the coat to keep it silky.
